DPP in talent search to beef up war on graft

Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji is seeking to recruit over 100 new staff, including special prosecutors and researchers, as he moves to secure convictions against suspects in corruption and other serious crimes.

Mr Haji said on Tuesday the staff will be deployed across the 47 counties.

“Successful candidates for posts of Prosecution Counsel can be deployed to any of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions offices in the 47 counties and sub counties with court stations,” said Mr Haji in a notice inviting applicants for various positions posted in local dailies. The special talent being sought includes 65 prosecution clerks, 32 prosecution counsel, five senior researchers and five research officers.

Other positions advertised include statisticians, librarians and drivers. This marks the latest recruitment drive by Mr Haji who has set his sights on boosting the capacity of his office to fight graft.
