Kenya is keen on tapping affordable technology to accelerate its plan for universal access to healthcare.
Kenya is banking on an affordable technology developed by Philips to boost access to primary healthcare following a deal signed in New York between the Dutch technology firm and the United Nations on Sunday.
Foreign Affairs secretary Amina Mohamed said Kenya is keen on tapping affordable technology to accelerate its plan for universal access to healthcare.
“Kenya is keen on enhancing partnerships and innovations that will accelerate the realisation of the sustainable development goals (SDGs),” Ms Mohamed said on her official twitter handle on Monday.
“The signing of the Multi-Partner Trust Fund Agreement between Royal Philips and the United Nations will go a long way in strengthening the SDG Platform in Kenya,” she said.
Through a partnership with the United Nations Population Fund, Philips has already set up trial Community Life Centres (CLCs) in Mandera and Githurai (Kiambu County).
