The High Court has granted Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe a leeway to access her house while the prosecution was given an ultimatum to take her fiancé , Joseph Irungu alias Jowie, for treatment.

However, State lawyer Catherine Mwaniki insisted that the items had been withheld to preserve the crime scene as well as later production as exhibits.
“We’re waiting for a report from the government chemist which is not yet ready,” she said.
But the judge ordered that Ms Maribe be allowed access to to her house Lang’ata Royal Park Estate in Nairobi, which she has continued to pay rent for despite being cordoned as a crime scene.
The court will hear Ms Maribe’s application for contempt on February 28.
