Kenya’s plan to aggressively expand the market for its agricultural produce in populous Far East Asian countries appeared to have started on a wrong footing in the first year with earnings from that region falling by more than a quarter.

Exports earnings from the region — which, together with Africa, forms the focus for the country’s exports expansion strategy — dipped by Sh23.91 billion, or 26.37 percent, in the first nine months of the year, statistics show.
