Middle East carrier Emirates has added its flyers an option of creating a bespoke playlist ahead of their flights as the fight for consumers takes to new heights.
The new function in the Emirates app allows the playlist created to be synchronised to their seats once they are on board.

“Our customers can now browse the unmatched content on offer and create personal entertainment playlists at their leisure, and once comfortably settled in their seats on board, they simply sync and press play,” said Sir Tim Clark, President, Emirates Airline.
This is in addition to the existing in-flight entertainment on Emirates dubbed ‘ice’ which includes 1,000 movies, popular television box sets, tens of thousands of music tracks, podcasts and games.

The syncing capability is currently available on over 100 Emirates Boeing 777 aircraft and will be made available progressively across the entire fleet, including A380 aircraft in the coming months.
Travellers can now get to select to watch local content from the continent including Supa Modo, Kenya’s 2019 Oscar submission in the Best Foreign Film category on ice as we as other critically acclaimed African films like I Am Not A Witch (Zambia), Farewell Ella Bella (South Africa), The Lucky Specials (South Africa), Liyana (Swaziland), Broken Promises 4ever (South Africa) and The Royal Hibiscus Hotel (Nigeria).
African music playlists available on ice include Dj Ganyani’s House Grooves, Best of Yvonne Chaka Chaka, African Pop Mix, Diamond Platnumz’s A Boy from Tandale, Burna Boy’s Outside, Davido’s Son of Mercy EP and WizKid’s Sounds from the Other Side.
