An investor is set to put up Sh1.2 billion multi-block eight-floor buildings comprising 224 housing units in Thindigua on Kiambu Road.

Regulatory filings show Krishna Estates Ltd’s project was vouched for by residents who participated in initial hearings. They said it would enhance security.

If approved, the project comprising 64 two-bedroom units comprising two blocks and 160 three-bedroom units to be built in five blocks will be implemented within the next three years.

The gated community project will stand on a two-acre plot and will see a modern wastewater treatment plant installed as well as paved driveways, a perimeter wall and a guardroom next to the main gate to be manned 24 hours a day during and after completion of the project.

National Environment Management Authority has confirmed receiving the project’s request for approval and invited views from the public.

The views, written or in oral, should be addressed to its Nairobi and Kiambu county offices within 30 days.

The proponents say it will create jobs and fresh revenue for both the national and county governments.

The Environmental Impact Assessment Audit added businesses dealing in construction materials would benefit immensely while technology skills transfer will benefit local workers.
