Kajiado County is setting up an automated online buildings approval platform for commercial and residential investments.

Automation has so far been successfully implemented in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kiambu and Kisumu.

Governor Joseph ole Lenku said the platform, funded by the International Finance Corporation’s Kenya Competitiveness Enhancement Programme, is easy to use.

“The support will accelerate our reform momentum and significantly enhance efficiency and effectiveness in public service delivery. By leveraging on technology, we will also improve accessibility, transparency and accountability in our operations,” he said.

Mr Lenku and IFC’s Country Manager East Africa Manuel Moses signed an agreement for the design and implementation of business regulation reforms hoped to make Kajiado more investor friendly.

Mr Moses hailed the partnership saying supporting private projects will help county governments generate new revenue and boost economic activities.
