The Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (Icifa) says more than 90 per cent of individuals and firms have complied with industry regulations.

The industry regulator last month gazetted 563 firms and individuals that it said were in compliance with the regulations including having at least three years of relevant experience and being a Certified Investments and Financial Analyst graduate.

Icifa chairman Job Kihumba said in an interview that the gazettement will be an annual process that will require un-registered firms and individuals to apply for vetting.

“More than 90 percent of those we know are in compliance. There could be a few rogue ones here and there but we do not know them. This is part of a process that will be done every year,” Mr Kihumba said.

This is the second gazettement after a similar one in September 2017.
