A coffee estate in Murang’a has been put on sale for Sh2.8 billion with the seller also offering to partner in avocado farming. Nelleon Property, the selling agent for the 400-acre farm, said the price is negotiable.

The land is located 12 kilometres from Thika and 10 kilometres from Kabati town on the Thika-Kenol Highway. Coffee plantations along Thika highway have become hot spots for development lately.

“We are selling the land as a whole, we will provide details to buyers,” said Eunice Waihenya of Nelleon Property. The company said in a notice that the land is next to a river and has a factory as well as buildings.

“Coffee and avocado (farming) are doing very well. It is also suitable for setting up a processing factory, housing and industrial development. A joint venture in farming avocado is negotiable,” said the notice placed in the media.

Also on sale some kilometres from the farm is another property valued at Sh500 million. The land is located one kilometre from Kenol Town.

This is a short distance from Kakuzi Limited, which grows coffee, fruits and keeps livestock.

Coffee farms are being subdivided in the area and sold mainly for gated communities.

One of the property measuring 1,000 acres and bordering Kakuzi has been on sale since 2016 with quarter-acre plots going for Sh5 million each.
