Pangani police to sell matatus, bikes

Pangani Police Station has hired an auctioneer to dispose of impounded matatus and motor cycles. In a Gazette notice published Friday, Astorion Auctioneers representative Kevin Gitau said it had received instructions to auction the identified items, which remained unclaimed after being impounded and detained at the station over a long period.

“Owners of motor vehicles and motorcycles lying unclaimed at Pangani Police Station should collect their properties within the next 30 days, failure to which Astorion Auctioneers shall proceed to dispose of the same via a public auction on behalf of Pangani Police Station,” said the notice.

Among the vehicles targeted for sale by the key crime-solving station is a Mercedes Benz saloon registered in Uganda, a Volvo Saloon, several minibuses, Nissan caravan, a numberless Mitsubishi trailer, Nissan Saloon among others.

Other items to be sold are assorted electronic items recovered from theft suspects, two gas cylinders, two trolleys, a lorry cabin, four vehicle tyres, a milk can, four ordinary bicycles and eight twisted Y8 iron bars. The notice lapses on December 7.
