Superior Homes has finished construction of Sh500 million assisted-living cottages targeting affluent elderly people.

Fadhili Care in Athi River, Machakos, which sits on five acres within Green Park Estate has one-bedroom cottages and two-bedroom cottages, totalling 41 units. Superior Homes managing director Ian Henderson said the development had personalised service for each occupant with 24-hour care available as well as easy-to-access mobility aids.

“The home is ideal for any senior citizen looking for a long-term tranquil environment where their peers are. The gated cottage community will also be available for renting,” said Mr Henderson.

The elderly residents will access a clubhouse for social activities such as book reading, television watching and board games with the venue also reserved for family gatherings and friends’ visits. It will also provide medical care for its clientele as well as 24-hour ambulance service with a resident team of nurses providing psychosocial, physiotherapy and social homecare services.

“This is a good investment that not only provides home ownership, but also seeks to address specialised needs such as access to specialised treatment, personal emergency response systems with homes fitted with panic buttons, mobility aids in the bathrooms and wider doors that allow for easy support and access even for those using wheelchairs,” said Fadhili Care Homes Head Nurse Dorcas Bett.

Residents will also enjoy room services and food delivery services.
