Coffee farmers in Central Kenya want the property of  Kenya Planters Co-operative Union directors accused of looting the organisation to be repossessed to recover farmers lost money.

They also want the government to develop a blueprint that will see them paid their dues on a quarterly basis.

“Individuals who were involved in the KPCU coffee board vandalism should be brought to book and if not alive their wealth should be attached to recover the lost properties,” said Harrison Munyi, National Farmers’ Association chairman.

Assets worth Sh727 million are said to have been vandalised from the giant coffee union in 2012. Farmers said they want to receive their payments after every three months from the date of delivering their coffee.

Mr Munyi was speaking during a meeting convened in Mathira East and attended by farmers from Kirinyaga, Embu, Nyeri and Murang’a counties.
