Sonko names ex-city clerk Gakuo as his top advisor

Former town clerk John Gakuo has been nominated as Nairobi governor Mike Sonko’s  advisor on urban planning and renewal as well as on environment.

This comes at a time when the governor is putting up a team that will help him run the county in the next five years.

Mr Sonko has nominated a team of six advisors.

He has named Githende Gachanja as economic advisor, Alphonce Mutinda (legal advisor) and Abel Onchari Oyieyo (political advisor).

The governor’s communication advisor will be Antony Otieno Ombok, Peter Kamau Mugo is head of delivery unit while the deputy will be  Joseph Ireri Kamanda.

Former Kiambu director of county public communication Mukami Kamau will now take over the office that was previously held by Beryl Okundi.
Joab Mwaura of K24 is the new director of the governor’s press service, a position formerly held by Walter Mong’are.
