Meeting sets in motion programme aimed at improving housing, infrastructure and transport in Nairobi.
The project, which is expected to work towards improving the livelihoods of Nairobi residents, will cost billions of shillings.
Treasury Secretary Henry Rotich was also at the meeting.
President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday met Nairobi County's top leaders as a collaborative programme with the national government aimed at improving the capital's economy gets underway.
The meeting was attended by Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko, Deputy Governor Polycarp Igathe, Treasury Secretary Henry Rotich and nominee for County Secretary Peter Kariuki.
CSs James Macharia (Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development), Eugene Wamalwa (Water and Irrigation ministry), Dr Cleopa Mailu (Health) and Prof Jacob Kaimenyi (Lands and Physical Planning) were also present.
During the meeting, both the national and the county government agreed to in the next four weeks realign their procurement plans to ensure relevant allocations are available to facilitate implementation of the programme.
The project, which is also expected to work towards improving the livelihoods of Nairobi residents, will cost billions of shillings.
It will focus on improving the state of housing, infrastructure and transport in the country's capital and financial hub.
It will also see various programmes on energy, water resources, environment and waste management, youth, women and persons with disability started to improve living standards of residents.
The collaborative programme will also touch on land information and communication technology.
Mr Igathe and Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala will co-chair the technical committee of the special task force on Nairobi.
