Developers have unveiled separate projects targeting wealthy clients with storied buildings featuring rooftop swimming pools in Nairobi’s Muthaiga and Woodley areas in the race for top dollar.

Muthaiga Breezes said it was eyeing tenants with a taste for “things modern” with a fully equipped gym as well as a conference hall for their private use on the 10th floor.

Woodland View Ltd has said its 19th floor will not only grant swimmers the city’s bird’s eye view but will have two buffet sections dedicated for use by its 263 families.

“The 18th floor will host the residents’ lawn and party area, squash courts, gymnasium, yoga, swimming pool, buffet counters, kitchen services and utilities, ladies locker and changing rooms and gents’ locker,” it says.

According to the National Environmental Management Authority (Nema) filings, the Muthaiga property will have parking lots for 122 vehicles as well as host 16 residential units on its first and second basement floors.

Three basement floors will accommodate 144 vehicles each while the ground to ninth floor will host 15 two- and three-bedroom units each. The rest of the 10 acres is reserved for greenery and playing fields as well as flower gardens.
