A vicious family court battle for Naivas Supermarkets Limited has revealed the humble origins of Kenya’s third largest retailer, besides its connection to Tuskys, the number two local retailer. Testimonies and filings in the Nakuru High Court indicate the chain was registered in 1998 by two brothers.
Assistant Registrar of Companies, Mr Francis Kiragu said the multi-million-shilling business was registered as Naivasha Self Service Stores Limited with two small branches in Naivasha and Elburgon.
