Donor funding to the Equity Group Foundation (EGF) has shrunk for the first time in seven years following Donald Trump’s decision to cut back foreign aid, which has affected the bank’s social programmes, including its 'Wings to Fly' education scholarships.

The foundation, a subsidiary of Equity Group Holdings, disclosed its donor funding fell by 44.7 percent in the year ended December 2025 to Sh2.93 billion, compared to Sh5.32 billion the previous year.
