KCB Bank Kenya has received $100 million (Sh12.9 billion) from the British International Investment (BII) for onward lending to climate-related projects as well as to women entrepreneurs and other medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The lender says the funding will strengthen its balance sheet and fund local companies that are scaling innovative climate technologies, including renewable energy and green mobility, as well as firms creating sustainable value chains in the agricultural sector.
