Low-cost carrier Jambojet has warned travellers to expect some flight delays on Tuesday after one of its planes was involved in an incident at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

In a statement, Jambojet said that one of its parked aircraft hit a pole in the VIP pavilion area of the airport.

"While parked, the aircraft rolled off the ramp and came into contact with a pole, resulting in some damage to its nose," the statement read in part.

"We wish to report that no injuries occurred to our staff during this incident. Our team is working diligently with the authorities to investigate the matter and ensure all necessary measures are taken to prevent a recurrence."

The airline, a subsidiary of Kenya Airways (KQ), said the incident happened during maintenance activities.

The aircraft has since been removed from operations until it is cleared.

“We anticipate some flight disruptions due to this incident and affected guests will be communicated to directly. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and reiterate our commitment to the safety of our staff and customers,” Jambojet said.
