After more than two years of steady decline, feature phones made a dramatic comeback in Kenya in the quarter to March, with 1.99 million new additions recorded in three months.
For the first time since smartphones went mainstream in Kenya and globally, growth in feature phone usage outpaced the rise in smartphone numbers, as high living costs cut consumer buyer power forcing many to reduce non-essential spending.
