The Environment and Land Court has ruled that the government unlawfully approved the establishment of a private golf range and restaurant inside Ngong Road Forest, citing violations of constitutional and environmental safeguards.
In its judgment, the court declared the licences issued to Karura Golf Range Limited invalid and void, barring authorities, including the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) and the National Environment Management Authority (Nema), from reinstating the project.
