Half of the cases in magistrate courts between March and June were related to breach of Covid-19 rules such as the night curfew, wearing of face masks and restriction of travel in and out of Nairobi and Mombasa.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Tuesday said that over 9,000 of the 18,642 cases handled by the courts in the three months were linked to Covid-19 restrictions imposed on March 25.
