Kenya’s external debt increased by Sh450 billion in five months to November 2023, as the shilling weakened against major foreign currencies amid more borrowing from multilateral lenders.
The external debt stock stood at Sh5.89 trillion by the end of November, up from Sh5.4 trillion by the end of June 2023, an increase of Sh449.9 billion on the stock from July to November.
