Shanta bets Sh66bn on Kenya gold rush after key sector reforms

Mineral exploration firm Shanta Gold Kenya has committed $510 million (about Sh66 billion) in new investments in the country, officials of the Mining ministry have revealed.

The capital outlay by the East Africa-focused miner for its West Kenya gold project forms part of the more than Sh129.48billion ($1 billion) inflows that the country has courted over the past year following sweeping reforms in the sector.
