The Supreme Court has admitted an application by the government seeking to challenge a judgment by a lower court in June that construction of the standard gauge railway (SGR) failed to comply with the law.

The top court ruled that the appeal by the Attorney- General (AG) Paul Kihara was proper and directed him to serve the suit papers to activist Okiya Omtatah, the Law Society of Kenya and other parties who had challenged the project.
