The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) has been directed to reinstate the technical bid by Finnish firm Kalmar Finland Oy for a Sh1.2 billion tender for the supply of cargo handling equipment, marking a second chance for the European company after it was locked out and the contract awarded to two rivals.
The Public Procurement Administrative Review Board (PPARB) said Kalmar Finland Oy was unfairly excluded from the tender and ordered KPA’s procurement team to repeat the process from the technical evaluation stage.
