State agency joins list of Slum Film backers

Signs that the fourth annual Slum Film Festival was going to be bigger and better than ever before was evident on opening night last Monday at Alliance Francaise when all the SFF banners and placards were covered with so many names of this year’s sponsors.

Initially, the Festival started with only three sponsors, Slum TV, which spawned the idea of the film festival; Hot Sun Film Productions, which, like Slum TV, is based in Kibera, and Africalia, the Belgian development agency that believes in “social emancipation through the arts.”
