Forgaden said it plans to put up 257 units on four highrise blocks while providing three-level underground parking bays for 190 vehicles.

The first two blocks will comprise three-bedroomed units totalling 112 units while the other two will accommodate one, two and three bedroom apartments totaling 145 units.

Its proponents say the project area on Kayahwe Road near Yaya Centre had witnessed exponential development with single-dwelling units demolished to pave for multi-dwelling highrise units for middle-income earners.

Three-level parking bay

Ndemi is seeking to build four blocks of 14 floors hosting 112 two-bedroomed apartments and 112 three-bedroomed apartments with the tenants set to enjoy access to 228 parking slots on the planned three-level parking bay.

National Environment Management Authority (Nema) has invited Kenyans to issue written submissions to reach its offices within the next 30 days before making a decision on the projects.

The Forgaden property is expected to generate income for the owners as well as fulltime employment for a caretaker, security guards as well as workers for other chores.

The environmental impact study sent to Nema said the area had also witnessed implementation of similar projects, suggesting residents stand to suffer socio-economic losses if the application is rejected.
