“We want to ensure that the members are protected when they fall sick and are unable to service loans due to medical emergencies that end up costing a lot of money,” he said.
Under the partnership, the more than 6,000 members of the sacco will benefit from inpatient and accidental death cover, among others, under sacco solutions cover known as Uri-Afya.
Britam Micro Insurance manager James Irungu said the cover would give members the confidence to take loans in the future, knowing that their financial position would not be affected in case of costly medical emergencies.
