Members of County Assemblies (MCAs) will be compelled to remit their Tier II contributions to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) after the Senate dropped a government-backed proposal for exemption in a draft Bill that seeks to establish a pension scheme for the county legislators.

In an amended form of the proposal that has since landed in the National Assembly, the County Assembly Boards will also be required to match the amounts remitted to the NSSF by the MCAs.
