Last month, Global Compact Network Kenya declared sustainability non-negotiable for Kenyan companies in 2026. February proved us right: the Kenya National Carbon Registry (KNCR), launched on February 17 by the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) under the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, delivers the mechanism.

This digital platform registers emissions reduction projects and issues tradable carbon credits compliant with Paris Agreement Article 6.
