The new Gionee X1S combines advanced technology with enhanced selfie and battery capabilities popular with young customers and comes at an offer price of Sh19,000.

“Since our entry into the Kenyan market in 2016, this is our seventh smartphone brand and the first in the premium category running on Android 7 and weighs 166 grams,” said Gionee General Manager-Kenya Eric Ai.

“The X1S has been shaped by user demands and adopted a 16MP selfie camera that allows users to take brighter, more beautiful and more natural-looking selfies any time, day or night.

‘‘It can capture four times the amount of light, which improves the imaging quality greatly, especially in low light,” he said. Mr Ai said the 5.20-inch Gionee X1S has an upgraded camera of 13-megapixel at the rear with a flash and a 16-megapixel front with flash, backed by a larger 4000mAh battery.

It comes with 3GB of RAM storage and 32GB expandable internal storage of up to 256GB microSD card.

It also boasts of a fingerprint sensor, three SIM and storage slots. It is available in black and gold colours.
