A Nairobi-based car leasing, repair and fleet management firm is partnering with top oil dealers to offer motorists up to 20 per cent discount on car repairs done at their fuel stations’ garages.

Bwala Africa seeks to drive traffic to stations owned by Total, Vivo Energy and Engen Kenya in exchange for commissions, with its members being entitled to car repair discounts.

The start-up, which manages cars on behalf of customers including leases, has been piloting its operations for the past one year with a fleet of 50 cars and now looks to scale up following its launch.

“Our 15-20 per cent car repair discounts at major petrol stations target the over one million cars on Kenyan roads daily which need regular maintenance and servicing,” said chief executive and founder Kennedy Nyabwala.

Besides Nairobi, the firm looks to take its operations to major towns such as Nakuru, Mombasa, Kisumu and Eldoret.
