Additionally, the KCB Foundation is engaging juveniles in hydroponic farming technology at Dagoretti Girls and Kirigiti Girls Rehabilitation Schools.

Mr Biwott said the initiative is targeted at ensuring seamless transition and re-integration of the young people in the society as well as providing them with sustainable income.
“This (project) will also enable them contribute to the economy and nation building,” said Mr Biwott.

The Foundation plays a role in the re-integration of juveniles by supporting the government’s social protection initiative, the National Safety Net Programme (NSNP), popularly known as Inua Jamii. The initiative targets orphans, vulnerable children, the elderly and the disabled.

The Foundation, through the KCB Group cash transfer programme, has partnered with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection to support the initiative.

Under the Inua Jamii plan, KCB Foundation supported 400 beneficiaries to undertake training on hydroponic farming technology at Miramar International College in Kikuyu in 2017.
