The ministry’s manual services will remain unavailable for 10 days from Monday to March 30 as they finalise the digitisation process and ensure that records captured in the Lands Information Management System are clean.
The Land ministry will close the Nairobi and Central registries in a second attempt to fully digitise all records and launch an online system meant to boost efficiency.

The public are now required to access services that include transfer of ownership, issuance of consent, valuation requests, payment and issuance of land rent clearance certificates through the ecitizen portal.
They will also be required to log onto ecitizen system to make payments, register land documents, to do searches and apply and withdraw of caution.
“…the ministry has completed the re-engineering of business processes through an online system dubbed LIMS (Lands Information Management System) with a view of reducing the turn-around time on Service Delivery,” said Land principal secretary Nicholas Muraguri.
