The Law Society of Kenya South Rift branch has called on the government to take action against perpetrators of violence between two communities in Olposimoru, Narok county.

LSK called on Cabinet Secretary for Interior Dr Fred Matiang’i to ensure that more than 13 schools in the clash torn area are re-opened and enough security officers are deployed ahead of the national exams.
“We have received reliable information that police officers drawn from the General Service Unit (GSU) have arrested 10 people including businessmen who had just closed their shops at Olposimoru and took them to Narok in the pretext they were involved in the clashes,” said LSK in a statement.
Mr Kipngetich said, “Such arbitrary arrests should not be encouraged as it would not help to quell but fuel the clashes”.
“We cannot bury our heads in the sand when innocent people are killed, other injured, displaced and houses torched over claims of cattle rustling when the truth of the matter is that politicians are fuelling the clashes,” Mr Kipngetich said.
