Auditor- General Nancy Gathungu has flagged irregular salary payments to a senior officer of the Kenya Petroleum Refineries Limited (KPRL) who continued to earn from the company despite failing to resume duty after the expiry of a secondment period to a State department.
According to the audit report, the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) had been seconded to the State Department of Petroleum in April 2023 for an additional two-year term ending March 31, 2025.
