Geneva, New York and Dubai led among favourite cities for top State officials who splashed Sh2.9 billion in foreign trips funded by taxpayers, reflecting the tough task of clamping down on non-essential travels.
The bureaucrats splashed Sh147 million on trips to Geneva, Switzerland, Sh80.7 million travelling to New York, US, and Sh56 million on Dubai trips between in the year to June, shows a report from the Controller of Budget (CoB).
