Security Department depletes 86pc of development budget in first month

The State Department for Internal Security and National Administration had by July depleted 85.7 percent of its development funds allocation for the current financial year, raising eyebrows on the big expenditure just one month into the fiscal year.

Fresh disclosures from the National Treasury show that the State Department spent Sh3.4 billion in July against an annual allocation of Sh3.97 billion.
