Tourism players take battle against KWS payment system to Parliament
Vehicles permitted to use designated tracks in the Mara (principally 4WD safari vehicles from lodges, camps, tour operators, and private individuals) must stay on the tracks at all times, except to approach big cats which are sighted on nearby open ground.
The Kenya Tourism Federation (KTF) has escalated a fight against the new park fee payment introduced by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to Parliament through a petition now under consideration by the lawmakers.
The federation, which represents key private sector players in the tourism industry, has urged the lawmakers to reverse the decision of KWS to transition from the old eCitizen platform to an upgraded payment system.
