The Treasury is seeking approval from Parliament for the Sh2 billion it disbursed in January to cushion dairy farmers from losses from a milk glut.

Supplementary Budget documents tabled in the National Assembly show that the funds were released through the State Department for Co-operative Development and Management, which disbursed the funds on January 2.
