The Budget Policy Statement (BPS) consideration period by the MPs could be extended by seven days from the current 14 if Parliament approves the proposed changes to the Public Finance Management (PFM) Act.

The Public Finance Management (Amendment) Bill 2022 by Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Boss seeks to amend section 25 (7) of the Act to add MPs more time to scrutinise the BPS, a government document before subsequently informing and involving Kenyans sufficiently.
