Rwanda is set to automate trading at its securities exchange by the end of this year, taking the plan to inter-link the east African capital markets a step closer to reality.

The Capital Markets Authority Council (CMAC), which regulates securities trading in Rwanda, said the current open outcry trading system will be phased out, leaving the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange as the only one among the East African Community member countries to have a manual trading system.
