If you live in Nairobi, you will remember the beautiful green canopy that once covered the stretch of Waiyaki Way from Westlands towards Kinoo and Kikuyu before the expressway was built.

Driving on that road always felt refreshing, a reminder that roads can be more than just tarmac. Today, many newly constructed highways and bypasses are left looking bare, with no trees by the roadside.
