Some 550 Chinese companies will be scouting for deals during the China Trade Week exhibition set to take place in Nairobi between June 13 and June 15.

The trade fair, which is in its fourth consecutive year, is looking to connect retailers, manufacturers, distributors, importers and exporters in Kenya with their counterparts from China.

The event was attended by about 450 Chinese companies last year.

“China Trade Week expo 2018 is set to host about 550 Chinese firms who will be showcasing their wares for three days at Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi,” said the exhibition’s events director Mitchell Meyrick.

“Companies dealing in construction, lighting and energy, clothing and textile, electrical goods and electronics, print, packaging and agricultural machinery will be attending the expo.”

China Trade Week was inspired by China’s ambitious development plan dubbed One Belt One Road.

It started in 2013 at the United Arabs Emirates and has spread to other countries including Ghana, South Africa, Iran and Morocco.
