Ethiopian Airlines has unveiled a mobile application to enable its customers pay for services and products more conveniently.

Passengers originating from Ethiopian routes will now have the option of paying either through mobile or Internet banking.

The rollout of the service is part of the airline’s plan to gradually replace the manual ticketing service rendered in Addis Ababa and other domestic offices.

“As a customer focused airline we have been investing heavily in a comprehensive digitalisation of our organisational operating system and the overall passenger experience across the value chain. The mobile applications for iOS and Android devices will enable us to (make available) a high degree of personalised experience to our esteemed customers,” said Ethiopian Airlines Group Chief Executive Tewolde GebreMariam.

“Our customers will be able to use their mobile devices to book flights, do flight check-in, issue boarding passes and self-board flights, check the status of their flight, and get actual arrival and departure times...”
