Fly-SAX is set to increase the frequency of flights to Mombasa from Nairobi, saying that it intends to meet demand from traders and tourists.

In a statement, Fly-SAX said it would fly to Moi International Airport from Wilson Airport twice a day, daily with the exception of Wednesday, effective Friday.

Fly-SAX introduced the Wilson-Mombasa route in late 2017 during the holiday season but is now ramping up investments to meet demand.

“We understand there is a demand for transport between Wilson Airport [and] Mombasa.

“As any commercially oriented entity, we went to our drawing table and worked on a plan that would allow us to service the route efficiently with our fleet,” said Fly-SAX chief executive Don Smith, in a statement.

Fly-SAX’s hub is at the Wilson Airport from where it flies to 14 destinations including Maasai Mara, Nanyuki, Wajir, Homa Bay and Lamu. Last year Fly-SAX and its sister airline Fly540 opened offices at Isiolo ahead of the commissioning of direct flights.

Outside Kenya, Fly-SAX flies to Entebbe, Moroni and Mogadishu.
