Court stops sale of Waititu’s cars in Sh10m loan dispute

Former Kiambu governor Ferdinard Waititu has secured temporary orders from Kiambu Law Court restraining asset financier, Mwananchi Credit Limited, from selling his two luxury vehicles to recover a Sh 10 million debt.

The auctioneers had seized the two vehicles and are currently detained at Startruck Yard Kiambu Road. Mr Waititu had used the two cars as collateral for the loan.

“Upon reading the notice of motion brought under the certificate of urgency...it is therefore ordered that a temporary injunction be and is hereby issued restraining the defendants or respondents, their servants, agents and or any other person or persons from selling, disposing of, detaining, and or advertising for sale of motor vehicles registration numbers KCP 200A and KBS 254V until hearing and determination of this application,” reads an order issued by Kiambu senior resident magistrate W. Rading.

The court also ruled that both cars be released to Mr Waititu immediately.

“That the applicant’s motor vehicle registration numbers KCP 200A and KBS 254V be released to him forthwith ..that the officer commanding Kiambu Police Station be and is hereby directed to enforce compliance of the orders,” the order reads further.
