Efforts to ease traffic on Mombasa Road have been stepped up with the planned construction of a 10-kilometre (km) link road from Eastern Bypass to Greater Eastern Bypass road. Work on the road will start in May and take about two years. The Greater Eastern Bypass links Mombasa-Nairobi highway, the Kangundo-Nairobi and the Thika-Garisa roads.
It is the latest in a series of projects, either in various stages of tendering, about to start or underway meant to decongest Nairobi city.
