The government is looking to make up to Sh20 billion worth of equity investments in viable ventures in the manufacturing sector in a bid to boost the industry's contribution to economic output.
President William Ruto has directed Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry Lee Kinyanjui to budget funds to pump into viable factories in sub-sectors which the private sector has shunned over the years.
